Snow Conditions in Grand Massif - Haute Savoie region, good snow-sure record
The ski area of Le Grand Massif lies in the Haute Savoie region of France, between Geneva and Mont Blanc, and is made up of Flaine, Morillon, Samoens, Les Carroz and Sixt Fer a Cheval. Le Grand Massif has mainly north-facing slopes, which guarantee excellent coverage throughout the season and ensure its snow record, with the area seeing an average annual snowfall of around 6m. There's generally plenty of sunshine too, meaning pleasant skiing conditions, with the ski season running from mid-December to late April.
 
Grand Massif Snow Conditions - Ideal slopes for intermediates, very family-friendly
Le Grand Massif is the third largest linked ski area in France, with 265km of terrain, 132 runs and 78 lifts. The region enjoys a good ski record, and the slopes are well-groomed throughout the season. Villages in the area are located at altitudes ranging from 700m -1,600m, with skiers able to access a top elevation of 2,500m. There are 16 green runs for beginner skiers and 15 blacks for more advanced skiers, but with 106 red and blue runs combined, the ski area is best-suited to intermediate skiers, who can explore the extensive slopes which range in style from tree-lined runs ideal for cruising to challenging steep moguls. Each village has its own beginner’s area, and, being a particularly family-friendly ski area, the level of tuition is high. Flaine, the main resort, is known for its huge treeless open bowl, with north and north-westerly facing slopes, whilst the longest run in the area is Les Cascades, a 14km scenic descent through Alpine meadows and a nature reserve.

In addition to the abundance of natural snow, Le Grand Massif has introduced snowmaking, especially on the lower slopes, and is covered by over 200 snow cannons. The area continues to be known for its good snow record, with upper slope averages in Flaine, the highest resort, reaching 290cm during the 2009 - 2010 season.
