Grand Massif Resort Facilities
Ski Schools
Le Grand Massif has 4 ski schools with plenty of English speakers, including an ESF, which offer learn-to-ski packages, group lessons and private tuition. Skiers can also learn new disciplines such as slalom and ski jumping, and there are mountain guides available.
Childcare
Resorts such as Les Carroz and Morillon hold the 'Famille Plus Montagne' award for their childcare facilities, with creches in the area taking babies as young as 3 months, and providing non-skiing care for under-11's. There is a wide range of ski lessons for over-3's, and some excellent children's clubs.
Shopping
Shopping is fairly limited throughout the area, with some ski and sports shops, boutiques, bakeries, patisseries, supermarkets, newsagents and gift shops, and a number or traditional local markets in the villages to browse.
Dining
There is a good choice of dining options available, especially in Flaine where there are over 20 restaurants, as well as slope-side cafes with scenic terraces, and mountain restaurants that are open at night. Most restaurants, cafes and bars offer Alpine fare and Savoyard specialities, and in general, eating out is good value and family-friendly.
Apres-Ski
The liveliest apres-ski can be found in purpose-built Flaine, with the smaller villages enjoying a quieter, more traditional scene focusing on the local bars and inns.
Town Services
There are frequent buses linking the five villages, which offer services such as tourist offices, banks with cash points, post offices, supermarkets, libraries, internet cafes, hairdressers, dry cleaners and launderettes.
Medical Facilities
Le Grand Massif has a medical centre in Flaine village, as well as local doctors and chemists.
