Gastein Valley Snow Conditions – A long ski season with guaranteed snow coverage

Throughout Gastein Valley, first-time skiers can find family-friendly wide nursery slopes where the snow coverage is as good as the skiing tuition on offer there. Heavy snowfalls at higher altitudes means deep powder and mogul runs for intermediates are guaranteed. And for advanced skiers the off-piste conditions at Gastein Valley are excellent (advanced and expert skiers should not miss the chance to try out the powder trails leading down the Kreuzkogel Mountain). If you fly out to Gastein Valley in January you’ll find below freezing temperatures. In April and May you’ll be blessed with average highs of 9C and 10C – ideal weather for romantic daytrips with that special someone to charming Salzburg, or fascinating family days out to the nature reserve at the Hohe Tauern National Park.
