Even better, the long season at Foret Blanche lasts until April, so those who can’t get away for their cheap skiing holiday in December and January (when things get busy there) won’t miss out. What’s more, the region enjoys a remarkable sunshine record with over 300 days of bright sun each year.

As previously mentioned, snow cannons are on standby should the white powder need just a little thickening up. They replenish snow levels in late season, meaning whichever time you choose to fly out to Foret Blanche, from the first day of the season to the last you can look forward to uninterrupted skiing, low fog, only occasional rainfall, and pleasant temperatures. But do remember to pack an extra layer for evenings as the night-time temperatures at Foret Blanche can fall to below freezing. Lower slopes generally enjoy 120cm of soft and powdery snow cover in February and March, and in recent years higher altitude slopes have seen as much as 270cm snow cover – packed snow that draws skiers to the region from all over Europe.
