Finkenberg Snow Conditions – Excellent skiing throughout the season
With pistes above 2,500, skiers in Finkenberg can rest assured that piste conditions will be favourable throughout the season, which runs from December to April. Should any reinforcements be needed, snow conditions in Finkenberg can be improved through the use of 11 snow cannons. Skiers won’t have to wait long to reach the top of the pistes either – the nine ski lifts of Finkenberg are able to uplift 60,452 skiers and snowboarders per hour. Finkenberg is also a good base for year-round skiing at the Hintertux Glacier, which lies 14km away by bus.
Snow conditions in Finkenberg – Access to 130 individual pistes
Sleepy, family-orientated Finkenberg is part of the Zillertal Ski Area, which affords access to 130 powdery pistes. Skiers in Finkenberg can choose to ski within the village itself or, with the appropriate lift pass, take to the slopes in the other Zillertal ski resorts of Fugen, Hintertux, Hippach, Kaltenback, Mayrohofen and Zell am Ziller. Finkenberg itself is home to 143km of piste ski runs. The slopes in Finkenberg are north and north east-facing, with skiing mainly above the tree line.
Finkenberg Snow Conditions – Perfect Terrain for Intermediates
With 51 red runs and 62 blue runs, snow conditions in Finkenberg are absolutely ideal for intermediates. Beginners are also very well catered for, with an excellent ski school in the village and good nursery slopes. Beginners in Finkenberg also have easy access by gondola to the Penken area, which has excellent learner terrain. Experts may well find that the slopes in Finkenberg are a little gentle for their tastes, but there is some reasonably challenging off-piste skiing to be found with the help of a local guide.
