Skiing in Finkenberg
Finkenberg is situated 3kms above Mayrhofen in the Tux Valley; it is a small, attractive ski resort that is part of the Zillertal ski area. This comprises of 430kms of skiing including the Hintertux glacier. Finkenberg is a quiet, scenic resort, ideal for families, with a fantastic range of skiing within easy reach and the livelier Mayrhofen ski resort along the valley. Finkenberg also benefits from a fairly short transfer time from Innsbruck.

Finkenberg has good ski school and nursery slopes for beginners, there are also easy blue runs on the Penken mountain. Intermediates will enjoy an excellent choice of skiing in the Zillertal ski area and Finkenberg is right at the heart of it. In the Zillertal ski area there is 430kms of skiing, good lift facilities and a free shuttle taking skiers to the Hintertux glacier. For advanced skiers staying in Finkenberg there are challenging north facing runs, mogul fields and some really steep descents. Snowboarders will find plenty to keep them busy around Finkenberg and there is a half pipe and terrain park at Penken. There is approx 20kms of cross country skiing trails in the area.

There are a few good value restaurants and cafes in Finkenberg and a couple of bars but this is generally a quiet resort. There are many walking trails around Finkenberg, an ice skating rink, bowling and tobogganing.
