Guides are also available offering backcountry tours of the area, and early-risers can take advantage of the 'Fresh Tracks' programme to experience the regions fresh powder.
Childcare
Newborns are accepted in the crèche, which takes children up to the age of 6, and can also incorporate a one-hour lesson for kids aged 3-4. Ski lessons are available for children aged 5 -12, with adventure camps and plenty of organised daily activities also offered in the resort.
Shopping
Shops found in Fernie include a good selection of skiwear and sports stores, as well as local arts and craft shops, boutiques, jewellers, a general store and 3 supermarkets.
Dining
Fernie boasts an excellent dining scene for such a small town, with 30 restaurants, including 8 in the resort, featuring a gourmet lodge, sushi bar and pasta place. The town has some good traditional pubs and grills, and also offers eclectic Asian, Mexican and Chinese cuisine.
Après ski
The resort is home to just a couple of après ski venues, which play live music, with around 10 more bars in the town itself, offering sports screens and pool tables, as well as a disco.
Town services
The development, Fernie Alpine Resort, is the main centre here at the base of the mountain, with accommodation and basic tourist facilities, whilst the Victorian mining town of Fernie itself lies 5km away. Downtown offers more entertainment options, and convenient services such as 4 banks, a post office and an internet cafe.
Medical facilities
Fernie has a chemist, doctors, and a hospital downtown.
