Ellmau Snow Conditions – Austria’s largest lift-linked ski area
Picturesque, relaxed Ellmau is part of the enduringly popular SkiWelt area, which incorporates nine villages to create Austria’s largest inter-connected ski area.  Skiers in Ellmau have easy access to an incredible 250km of well-maintained slopes, thanks to an ultra-modern system that incorporates over 90 lifts and cable cars as well as Austria’s longest and fastest funicular. A new high-speed detachable six-person chairlift introduced for winter 2007/8, has improved the connection between Ellmau and the slopes at neighbouring, and its integrated seat heating means that skiers in Ellmau can make the ascent in total comfort!

Snow Conditions in Ellmau – Perfect terrain for beginners and intermediates
Beginners and intermediates skiing in Ellmau will be in paradise, with 108km of beginner’s slopes and 120km of intermediate slopes at their disposal. A separate nursery slope in the centre of the village is ideal for those just beginning to find their feet. Ellmau boasts a snow park and three half-pipes, meaning that snowboarders will be happy too, and although experienced skiers are not spoilt for choice, they can still take advantage of 22km of difficult slopes.

Ellmau ski conditions – Austria’s largest arsenal of ski cannons
Situated in the foothills of the beautiful Wilder Kaiser mountain range, Ellmau is one of Austria’s lowest major ski areas, but a snow-making arsenal of 400 snow cannons covering 180 km of slopes in the SkiWelt area mean that skiers in Ellmau can enjoy good ski throughout the season, which runs from mid-December to early April. Almost the entire ski in Ellmau is below the tree line.
