El Tarter Resort Facilities
Ski School
El Tarter has its own ski school, with a good choice of English-speaking instructors. Along with neighbouring Soldeu, the ski schools have an extremely good reputation and are considered among the best in Europe, offering a range of lessons and skills for all levels of skier and boarder.
Child Care
There is a nursery in El Tarter providing childcare for children aged 2-4, and a snowgarden for skiing lessons for ages 3-6. El Tarter has the free Mickey Snow Club for ages 5-12, where children can enjoy special slopes and a selection of jumps, bumps and tunnels, as well as games, parties and fun activities.
Après-Ski
Entertainment in El Tarter is mainly bar-based, with a small selection of pubs and bars, some found in the resorts' hotels. A few of these play live music and there is a popular and busy nightclub here, but for more choice head to Soldeu.
Dining
There's a good choice of 27 restaurants, serving casual pub food to traditional Andorran specialities and both rustic and sophisticated mountain fare. Lots of French, Italian and Spanish fare can be found in and around the resort, as well as in the nearby towns of Canillo and Soldeu.
Shopping
There are a couple of shopping centres in El Tarter, home to a large ski and sports shop, a deli, a perfume store and a gift and souvenir shop, but the best shopping can be found in Andorra le Velle, where there is plenty of choice for duty-free bargains.
Town Services
The town of El Tarter is quiet and traditional, with a good choice of hotels, and is a favourite with Spanish visitors. A free bus runs every 20 minutes between El Tarter, Soldeu and Canillo, and there are taxis to take you into Soldeu for livelier nightlife.
Medical Facilities
A medical centre can be found at the base in the ticket office building, offering emergency assistance and help on and off the slopes.
