A hotel-based spa and wellness centre offers the chance for rest and rejuvenation, with Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath and massages available. The village is quiet yet full of character, and being Italy’s' oldest ski resort, retains its historic ski tradition. Set amidst scenic woodlands, Clavieres' atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and boasts a tranquil charm, ideal for families. Montgenevre in France is just 15 minutes away, and other larger resorts in the Milky Way such as Sauze D'Oulx and Sestriere offer a change of scene. Day trips from Claviere include the historic town of Briancon and the city of Turin.
Dining and après ski
The compact village has a fairly limited après ski scene, but is home to a couple of lively bars, with more choice found in the busier neighbouring resorts. Restaurants serve very reasonably-priced food, with plenty of Italian specialities and regional wines. Local food to try here includes Piedmont products such as cheeses, sausages, truffles and pizza.
