Snow conditions in Claviere  - North-facing slopes; can also ski in France
The local ski area in Claviere offers 33km of terrain, with a choice of 25 runs and plenty of above tree-line skiing. The slopes here are a combination of north-east and north-west facing, meaning that the base is retained well throughout the season. Beginners have a great flat section in the village to practice on, with intermediates having the most choice with a large number of fast cruising blues, including one which leads from above the tree-line directly back to the village. More competent skiers should explore the off-piste in Claviere or venture into the Milky Way, which boasts 400km of marked trails. Claviere also has excellent links into neighbouring Montgenevre, which offers a great days' skiing in France.
