Briancon, one of the highest towns in Europe at 1200m, is a charming medieval centre dating back to the 13th century, conveniently linked directly into one of the largest ski areas in France, Le Grand Serre Che. The resort enjoys a picturesque setting and 300 days of sunshine, as well as access to the high altitude heavily-wooded skiing that the region is known for.
