Skiing in Les Brevieres Les Brevieres, situated at 1,500m, is the lowest of the five villages that make up the ski resort of Tignes, and is ideal for those looking for a base which has retained its’ Alpine charm, whilst enjoying the snow sure slopes of this famous high altitude resort. The village of Les Brevieres, set in the Tarentaise Valley, offers both local skiing and access to the higher areas of Tignes, the year- round slopes of the Grande Motte Glacier and the massive Espace Killy ski resort, with its’ 300km of pistes. Families and those looking for a relaxing break will enjoy the easy-going atmosphere of Les Brevieres, and there is plenty of skiing available for all levels of ability in Tignes.
Skiing in Les Brevieres – The Mountains Skiing in Les Brevieres offers visitors a chance to stay in a pretty traditionally Austrian mountain village whilst enjoying excellent conditions and gaining access to skiing up to 3,500m. In the village itself, there is a free drag lift and a nursery slope, and once more confident, beginners can take the six person bubble lift up to Tignes 2,100m, and from there all over Tignes and Val d’Isere. Intermediates can choose from a number of wide blues and reds in Les Brevieres, and more expert skiers can try La Sache, a famed black run with a 1,400m vertical drop, or the area of ‘Vallon de la Sache’ with its’ extensive backcountry trails. The trails on the mainly north facing slopes of Tignes Les Brevieres are generally tree-lined and skiers are rewarded at the bottom of the mountain with a couple of welcoming restaurants. Further up the resort, above the tree-line are the more modern purpose built villages of Le Lavachet, Le Lac and Val Claret, at 2,100m and 2,300m, which make up the main centre of Tignes and from here access to the glacier, with its’ wide sweeping runs and stunning views from its’ peak at 3,500m, is available. Whilst skiing in Tignes Les Brevieres, the extensive area of L’Espace Killy offers plenty of choice for all levels within its’ 300km, served by over 100 lifts. Experts will delight in the number of challenging blacks, with characteristic vertical drops of up to 1,900m, the largest in Europe. The off-piste skiing in the Tignes area is among the best anywhere, and guides are available to ensure visitors make the most of the region and stay safe.
Skiing in Les Brevieres – The Après-ski Skiing in Les Brevieres is ideal for families or groups looking for a relaxing base. The traditional Alpine village is full of narrow streets and farmhouses and is definitely one of the prettier villages in Tignes. With 6 bars and 7 restaurants, it has a low-key après-ski scene, but for those in search of a more lively evening out, the bus service easily transports visitors around Tignes. The village of Val Claret is one of the busiest, with lots of bustling bars, restaurants and shops.
