Things to Do
Bormio is known throughout Italy as being made up of two towns. The medieval old town centre and the purpose-built new town are markedly different, but both have lots to offer tourists. Those on family skiing holidays are particularly welcome, and there is plenty to see and do.

Recreation
Many tourists are attracted to Bormio by its wonderful thermal baths that date back to Roman times, and still survive today in full working order. After a lovely afternoon at the baths, you could enjoy a coffee and a quiet read at one of the pretty cafes at Bormio’s historic Via Roma or Piazza Cavour. Visits to antique buildings, beautiful ancient churches, and the Piazza Cavour Amphitheatre can help make your Bormio holiday unforgettable. And an absolute must-visit is the ancient district of Combo. The magnificent church there has a ceiling fresco of stars that is recognised across all of Italy as being one of the most awe-inspiring works of art of its kind ever produced.
Shopping
Shopping at Bormio generally takes place along the town’s main pedestrianised street. There you can find stylish boutiques, sports shops, small traditional shops selling art and crafts, and grocery stores well-stocked with regional foods and local delicacies.
Dining
Bormio has some good mountain restaurants offering value-for-money food. On the mountainsides (and in the town centre) you’ll also find welcoming cafes where you could enjoy a light snack before another invigorating afternoon’s skiing.
Apres-Ski
The apres-ski on offer at Bormio is sedate. For those seeking quiet and relaxed evenings there is a couple of bars where you could enjoy a beer or a glass of wine with family, friends and local people. There is a nightclub at Bormio, but for dancing until dawn it might be best to head for one of the larger neighbouring resorts, and to then get a taxi home from there in the small hours.
