Many hotels in the area offer health and beauty centres. The Aquapark Bohinj is a large health and wellness facility in Bohinijska Bistrica, ideal for family fun, relaxation or therapeutic treatments. The main village is Bohinjska Bistrica, but there are many small villages and charming hamlets dotted around the upper and lower valleys. Natural sights to see include the scenic Triglov National Park, with many stunning waterfalls, gorges and dramatic caves in the surrounding areas. Places of interest include the Museum of Alpine Dairy Farming, Tomaz Godec Museum, Oplen House and the two medieval churches that sit beside the lake. Don't miss a trip to the town of Bled, with its spectacular lake and majestic castle, and one of Slovenia’s' main tourist attractions. Other trips include the capital Ljubljana and Venice.
Après Ski
The bars are generally low-key and friendly, and the après ski scene is mainly centred on the many hotels and bars in the area. There are folklore evenings and floorshows with live music and dancing.
Dining
Many restaurants serve a range of international food such as pizza, with plenty of traditional eateries featuring local Slovenian fare. Specialities of the area include barley stew, buckwheat pancakes, trout, sausage and cheeses, as well as sweet local Slovenian wines.
