Visit the 17th century church located on an island in the lake, take a scenic walk around the path that encircles the lake or enjoy the views from the majestic Bled Castle. Day trips from Bled include the capital Ljubljana, with its vibrant city scene, and the karst caves of Postojna. The town offers a relaxed après ski scene, with a number of bars, both modern and traditional, as well as one disco. Live bands often play, and the town hosts winter concerts, featuring brass bands.

Choices from a range from international fare, including Chinese and Mediterranean, or try the local Slovenian food, such as 'struklji', dumplings make with cottage cheese, cured meats and sausages and the towns' famous 'kremsnita', a pastry cake filled with cream.
