Skiing in Banff - The 3 resorts
Skiing in Banff at Mount Norquay offers a good selection of green, blue and black runs, 28 in total with a peak elevation of 7,000'. The slopes are relatively sheltered as they sit very low down in the valley, protecting skiers from the weather, whilst giving even beginners the sense of rugged, adventure skiing .Try the Night Skiing which is offered weekly. Downtown Banff, the Cultural Centre of the Rockies, has a bustling, cosmopolitan feel with its’ 200 shops and restaurants.

Lake Louise, a gorgeous emerald lake sitting at the base of the Victoria Glacier, is one of the most photographed scenes in the park and has repeatedly been voted the Most Scenic Resort in North America. With a peak elevation of 8,650', 113 trails and Canada's largest snowmaking system, skiing against the stunning backdrop is amazing. There are green, blue and black runs from the peak of every one of the 12 lifts, so even novices can move around the resort with confidence. Another nice benefit of skiing The Lake is the ability to follow the sun all day by venturing down all 4 sides of the mountain. The pace is much slower here, with an air of old world
elegance, thanks to magnificent hotels like the Chateau Lake Louise.

Sunshine Valley, despite being the oldest resort, boasts one of the fastest high speed quad chairs in the world and longest season of the three, from early November to early May. With a whopping 360" of snowfall annually, there's no need for snowmaking facilities here. It also has the only
ski-in/ski-out hotel in the area.
