Snow Conditions In Bad Hofgastein - Located in the Gastein Valley 
Located in the Gastein Valley, south of Salzburg, the ski resort sits between the neighbouring resorts of Bad Gastein, the main town in the area, and Dorfgastein, in the widest and sunniest part of the valley. Despite the resorts' relatively low altitude of 860m, the slopes offer plenty of skiing above 2,000m, with the highest lift reaching 2,300m, and snow coverage is never a problem, thanks to extensive snowmaking. The ski season runs from December to April, with the best conditions found in February and March.
 
Bad Hofgastein Snow Conditions - Great slopes for intermediates, excellent off-piste 
The Gastein Valley is one of the longest and highest ski areas in Austria, offering a great range of 200km of varied terrain. Bad Hofgastein is lift-linked to Bad Gastein, with good access to the largest ski area, found on the Stubnekogel Mountain. The resort is perhaps best suited to intermediate skiiers, although advanced skiers and boarders will enjoy the deep powder bowls in the higher parts of the resort, ideal for off-piste exploring and freeriding. Snowmaking in Bad Hofgastein is extensive, particularly on the bottom third of the mountain, and the slopes see over 50% coverage from 150 snow cannons.    
 
Snow Conditions In Bad Hofgastein - Reliable snow conditions, extensive snowmaking
Ski holidays in Bad Hofgastein see reliable conditions each season, with an average snowfall of 1,524cm each year. The slopes are mainly north and north-easterly, and being at a high altitude, help to retain the packed snowbase. Upper slope averages range between 100-150cm between December and April, with 2006 and 2007 seeing up to 154cm and 135cm respectively. Temperatures in the resort see an average of -4C in January rising to 4C in March.
