Bad Hofgastein Resort Facilities

Ski School 

There's a choice of 2 ski schools in the resort, with both the Snow Sport School and Ski School Schlossalm offering instruction in both skiing and boarding, and providing private and group skiing lessons for all levels.

 

Child Care 

Ski holidays in Bad Hofgastein can provide childcare for children aged 3 years and older, and the ski school offers skiing lessons for ages 4 and up, with boarding lessons for children aged 6 and older. The Alpen Therme has a Family World with great facilities for kids, including a black-hole rafting slide and a multi-media adventure dome, and nearby Dorfgastein has a Children’s' Adventure Ski Area.

 

Shopping 

Bad Hofgastein has around 25 shops, with many upscale boutiques and jewellers. There are plenty of winter sports shops, selling ski gear and sports clothing, as well as craft shops selling traditional souvenirs.

 

Dining 

The town has 35 restaurants, offering everything from traditional Austrian fare to healthy vegetarian options and gourmet cuisine. The Gastein Valley offers almost 100 restaurants, with many of the better places found in the many hotels, and excellent mountain dining in its 30 slope side cafes and restaurants.

 

Après-Ski 

Skiers can choose from a number of bars in the evenings, offering low-key entertainment with some playing live music, and a choice of 3 night clubs. Bad Gastein offers more bars and discos, as well as a casino.  

 

Town Facilities 

Home to 4 banks with cash points, a tourist office, post office, launderette, supermarkets, car rental and various internet cafes.

The town has 3 doctors and 2 pharmacies, with emergency services available.
