Piste Information
A modern, purpose built resort situated at 1800m, Avoriaz lies at the heart of the enormous Portes du Soleil ski area, which covers 650km and straddles the border of France and Switzerland. Skiers in Avoriaz will enjoy the well-groomed, north-facing slopes, relatively high altitude, and the pleasant, pedestrianised village centre. Avoriaz is one of the most popular resorts in Portes du Soleil, and has its own 150km ski area.  Avoriaz is also regarded as among the best snowboard destinations in Europe – it was the first French resort to build a terrain park and half-pipe, and today snowboarders in Avoriaz will find three snowboard parks, including one catering specifically for beginners. Cross country skiers in Avoriaz can enjoy 48kms of trails locally to the resort, and more than 95kms of cross country skiing in the wider Portes du Soleil ski area.
