Recreation
This luxury resort is ideal for the ultimate in relaxation and rejuvenation, boasting a whole host of spas and treatment centres, offering everything from therapeutic massages and regular skincare services to specialist ayurvedic rituals.

A historic mining town, Aspen is a delight to walk around, and exudes a glamorous, yet still charming, atmosphere. The shopping is legendary, with the resorts' hundreds of stores catering to the wealthy and selling everything from the latest French fashions and top-of-the-range jewellery, to cosmetics, luggage, rugs and books and Western goods.

Aspen is a well-known cultural centre hosting festivals and concerts throughout the year, and offers its own ballet company, theatre company and opera house, with performances during the ski season. Its established Cooking School also offers various lessons.

There are numerous art galleries in which to browse, selling everything from unique glass and sculptures to posters. The Aspen Art Museum exhibits a range of contemporary works.

Dining
Known for its glut of fine restaurants, eating out in Aspen is an activity in itself. Home to an annual summer Food and Wine Festival, the town is a culinary hotspot, and offers not only memorable high-end dining, but a choice of reasonably-priced more casual restaurants, bars and cafes too.

Après-ski
With a vibrant and international après-ski scene, the ski town of Aspen attracts even non-skiers with its choice of nightlife, and is great for people-watching. The atmosphere ranges from quiet and relaxed in local bars, to glitzy and exclusive in some of the famous name hotel bars and swanky clubs.
