Many of the upscale hotels in Lech feature luxury spas and beauty salons, perfect for some relaxing pampering after a hard day on the slopes. Ideal for scenic strolls, the picture-postcard town is charming and traditional, and set amongst a beautiful backdrop. There is a 14th century church in the village, and the main street, which runs along the river, is lined with bars and cafes. Lech hosts opening parties at the start of the ski season each year, featuring concerts and fireworks. During the season, opera is staged by the slopes, and the resort is home to a Wine and Spring Snow Festival with tastings and dinners during March and April.
Dining And Apres Ski
The après ski centres around the hotel bars, and the scene is chic and cosmopolitan, including an ice-bar, jazz club and cigar bar as well as the highest casino in the Alps. More down-to-earth local options include cosy inns and taverns. Try some of the regional drinks such as Jagertee (tea laced with rum) or vodka with figs - a change from the more traditional schnapps. Dining is varied featuring many different cuisines at higher-than-average prices, and styles include everything from home-cooking to nouvelle cuisine. Lech is also very family-friendly with many restaurants offering fixed-price children’s' menus.
