Situated at 1,550m, skiing in Arinsal offers reliable snow coverage, and a range of slopes for less-experienced skiers and first-timers, served by a high-speed gondola. The Vallnord ski area, which offers 90km of terrain and 70 runs served by 43 lifts, incorporates both Arinsal and Pal as well as La Massana and Ordino-Arcalis, and whereas Arinsal is very much developed and commercial, the quiet village of Pal is charming and picturesque. Ideal for beginners, skiing in Arinsal offers a great area in front of the base lodge, perfect for learning, with the gondola then accessing some gentle easy trails. Intermediates on a skiing holiday in Arinsal can travel up to the peak at 2,500m, and enjoy some smooth runs down, as well as more challenging terrain over in Pal. Skiing in Arinsal generally offers long narrow trails, with those in Pal being shorter and more scenic, mainly above the treeline.
