Skiing in Argentiere
The ski resort of Argentiere is located at 1250m in the Chamonix Valley just 8kms up the valley from Chamonix. Argentiere is a small, traditional ski resort, set amongst stunning scenery; it is within 2 hours of Geneva so a perfect location for a short ski break. Argentiere is one of the chosen ski resorts of advanced skiers and off piste ski and snowboard enthusiasts. With its high altitude and glacier Argentiere offers excellent snow conditions late into the season and with an efficient bus service it is possible to ski all four areas of the Chamonix Valley.

Skiing holidays in Argentiere
The ski area serving Argentiere is the Grands Montets and is a dream for advanced and off piste skiers with some of the longest and steepest runs in Europe. There is a beginner’s area and some wide, gentle slopes at Le Tour. For improving skiers who are not looking for the challenging slopes of Argentiere there is a free bus service (with lift pass) linking up to the rest of the Chamonix Valley, offering 150kms of piste. The Vallee Blanche descent is a must – 24kms of amazing skiing and beautiful scenery. There is 42kms of cross country skiing trails in the area.

Snowboarders in Argentiere
Snowboarders know of Argentiere for its great powder and challenging terrain and the Chamonix area is famous for extreme freeriding, the off piste opportunities are vast and there are some good jumps at neighbouring Le Tour.

Apres ski in Argentiere
There are several good value restaurants in Argentiere serving great French food, there are also a few bars and the atmosphere is quite laid back. For livelier après ski Chamonix is a bus ride away with many late night bars and clubs and even a casino.

Winter activities
There is plenty going on in the area around Argentiere – heli- skiing, paragliding, sleigh rides, ice skating and a sports centre in Chamonix with indoor pool, tennis courts etc.
