Snow Conditions in Arc 2000 - Highest complex in Les Arcs
Les Arcs lies in the Tarentaise Valley in the Northern French Alps, just above the town of Bourg St. Maurice. The highest of all the Les Arcs centres, Arc 2000 is located at the foot of the Aiguille Rouge glacier, and the purpose-built village offers convenient access to the high-altitude slopes above. A very snow-sure resort, Arc 2000 is an ideal resort for advanced skiers and boarders. 
 
Snow Conditions in Arc 2000 - Reliable glacial slopes, challenging runs
Named for its elevation, Arc 2000 offers a range of high-altitude skiing on its glacial slopes. The development is home to one of the two major ski areas in Les Arcs, with Arc 2000 boasting a large bowl and the highest point in the resort - the peak of the Aiguille Rouge at 3,226m. There are a number of varied trails across the glacier, and some exhilarating runs which drop down the face of the mountain, as well as spectacular off-piste terrain. The long black 7km run down the back of the mountain boasts a vertical of 2,000m - the biggest in Europe - as it leads down to Villaroger below, ending up through the lower wooded slopes. Beginners skiers in Arc 2000 should make for the central area where the slopes are the gentlest, or head down to Arc 1800, which is more suited to novices; whist intermediate skiiers have plenty of choice throughout the whole Les Arcs resort. Skiers can also take the Vanoise Express gondola to La Plagne and access even more terrain in the vast Paradiski area.
 
Snow Conditions in Arc 2000 - Long ski season at snow-sure resort 
The ski season in Les Arcs runs from mid-December to late April. Les Arcs in known as a snow-sure ski resort, seeing 300cm of snowfall every year, with the high-altitude slopes of Arc 2000 offering reliable conditions and guaranteed snow. There is also snowmaking in Arc 2000 covering the children's ski area. Upper slope averages in Les Arc reached 212cm during the 2008 season, and 249cm during 2007.
