Arc 1600 is pedestrianised with a compact centre, and a popular resort with families. The nursery takes babies from as young as 4 months, and the village is quiet and peaceful with good access to the slopes. The entire Les Arcs resort has been awarded the 'Famille Plus’ label, which guarantees high standards of accommodation, and quality facilities and activities for families and children. The village is linked by funicular railway to Bourg St. Maurice, which is an authentic mountain town with lots of Savoyarde charm, and plenty of quaint shops and a local weekly market around which to browse. Arc 1800, the main hub of the resort, is easily accessible by free shuttle bus, as are Arc 1950 and Arc 2000.
Dining
Most of the restaurants in Arc 1600 serve traditional Alpine fare, with plenty of home-cooked meat and cheese dishes. There are numerous restaurants and cafes with sunny terraces on and around the mountain, with a good range of food and stunning views.
Apres-Ski
Arc 1600 boasts a family-oriented atmosphere and a rather quiet apres-ski scene, with the local bars featuring live music and pool tables. For a wilder night out, head to Arc 1800 where there are more bars and clubs, and the scene is much livelier.
