Skiing in Arc 2000
Located in the Tarentaise Valley, Les Arcs is a purpose-built high altitude resort, founded in the late 1960’s, and offers varied skiing for all levels of skiers and boarders, snow-sure slopes and convenient modern villages. Arc 2000 is the highest of the 4 villages which make up the resort, and due to its’ altitude, has great snow conditions and plenty of sunshine. With fabulous views of Mont Blanc and easy access to the upper reaches of the resort with their challenging terrain, Arc 2000 is a popular choice for serious skiers.

Skiing in Arc 2000 – The Mountains
The skiing in Les Arcs covers a large area of varied terrain, from wide open sunny bowls to long cruising gladed trails, with 118 runs over 200km. With the recently opened gondola, the Vanoise Express, linking the resort with neighbouring La Plagne to create the Paradiski ski area, skiers in Les Arcs now have one of the largest ski areas in the world, with over 400km of terrain, at their disposal. The skiing in Arc 2000 features slopes situated at the tree-line and mainly expert terrain, with a gondola and cable-car transporting skiers up to the peak of the Aiguille Rouge Mountain, the highest point in the resort at 3,226m. From here experienced skiers will delight in the steep black runs, including the 7km trail down to Villaroger, one of the longest blacks in the world, and endless off-piste skiing, especially under the cable-car. Beginner skiers in Les Arcs will find the best nursery slopes in Arc 1800, and all those learning to ski in the resort will be taught the pioneering ‘Ski Evolutif’ method, where skiers are given longer skis as they progress, which was founded in Les Arcs. Les Arcs is an established snowboarding resort, with the snowpark at Arc 1800 home to a half-pipe and a boardercross course, and a huge amount of varied terrain for riders.

Skiing in Arc 2000 – The Village
The après-ski scene in Arc 2000 is quieter and more relaxed than at neighbouring Arc 1950; however the village is still home to 40 shops, bars and restaurants. The compact nature of the village, convenient nursery and car-free streets attract many families to Arc 2000, and it is an excellent base from which to explore the entire resort. Whilst skiing in Arc 2000, the village offers other activities including a natural open-air ice-rink and the famous Olympic Speed Skating Rink, which is open to the public.
