The sauna and Jacuzzi facilities at the outdoor swimming pool offer the chance to relax, and there are spas and salons located both in the town and in many of the hotels for beauty treatments and massages. Yoga classes are offered at the fitness centre. Ski holidays in Alpe d'Huez feature a library, two cinemas and two video arcades offering entertainment for teenagers. There are facilities for jazz dancing and martial arts, and the town hosts weekly classical concerts and an annual comedy film festival. There are 2 museums in town, and the Church of Notre Dame des Neiges offers weekly guided tours of its fascinating interior, while the Grotte de Glace ice cave, at 2,700m, shows exhibits of ice sculptures.

Home to a buzzing young scene when the lifts close, Alpe d'Huez offers a variety of après ski entertainment with a great choice of drinking holes, including a number of popular ski hang outs with plenty of happy hours and themed nights.

With restaurants offering a range of cuisine, including traditional French and hearty mountain fare, as well as Italian, Chinese, Irish and Tex-Mex, there's plenty of choice in the resort to suit all tastes and budgets. Prices are generally reasonable with a great selection of local wines.
