This huge area encompasses 225km of piste served by 133 lifts, and a variety of slopes for all levels of skiers. Beginners in Alpe d'Huez have a great resort in which to learn, with wide sunny nursery slopes at the bottom of the resort, ideally placed near the village. Higher up the mountain, almost half of all the trails are dedicated to intermediates, with skiing in Alpe d'Huez offering a huge amount of diverse scenic runs, and a massive 2,230m vertical drop. Advanced skiers in Alpe d'Huez can choose from plenty of steep terrain and challenging blacks, including the Sarenne, at 16km the longest black run in Europe, and many exciting runs from the highest peak, the Pic Blanc, at 3,330m.
