One of Europes' highest resorts, at 1,860m, skiing in Alpe d'Huez gives access to the Grandes Rousses ski area, the fifth largest in France. This huge area encompasses 225km of piste served by 133 lifts, and a variety of slopes for all levels of skiers. Beginners in Alpe d'Huez have a great resort in which to learn, with wide sunny nursery slopes at the bottom of the resort, ideally placed near the village.
