Aime La Plagne, sometimes known as Aime 2000, is the highest village of all the areas making up the huge resort of La Plagne. Sitting at 2,100m, Aime La Plagne has spectacular views of Mont Blanc and is the most snow sure of the 6 purpose built villages, making it one of the most popular with tourists, especially late in the season. Aime La Plagne is a modern bright resort, offering plenty of doorstep skiing, and is ideally placed to explore the huge ski area, Paradiski – home to 425km of pistes linked by 142 lifts. Aime La Plagne is also the perfect base from which to explore the slopes of the vast La Plagne itself, one of the largest resorts in the world, and one of the highest resorts in Europe.
Skiing in Aime la Plagne – The Mountains
The resort of La Plagne has 124 ski runs over 225km of terrain, an immense area offering skiers of all ability a huge selection to suit them. With 11 easy trails, 11 ski schools and a free lift in each of the villages, beginners will find La Plagne an excellent choice in which to learn, and can marvel at the spectacular views from the peak at 3,250m. Advanced skiers have 12 blacks to test their skills on, including the 2,000m vertical found on the glacier, and a huge amount of off-piste terrain. La Plagne is primarily an intermediate resort, with 79 blue trails, and the skiing around the higher villages is mainly above the tree-line, including plenty of pleasant cruisers leading skiers through the trees back down to the lower level villages. There is a cable car connecting Aime La Plagne with La Plagne Centre, although from the resort it is possible to ski directly through the trees and access the pistes. The high altitude of Aime La Plagne guarantees fantastic snow conditions all through the season, and the accessibility to the main centre of La Plagne, with it's vast lift network, enables skiers to easily explore all that La Plagne has to offer.
Skiing in Aime La Plagne – The Après-ski
The village of Aime La Plagne has a wide range of modern accommodation complexes and a good number of hotels, many of them ski-in/ski-out and all very convenient for access to the slopes. Aime La Plagne has it's own shops, bars and restaurants and a disco, and facilities found in the village include ice-skating, paragliding and a cinema. Adventurous visitors to Aime La Plagne can try out the Flying Kilometre speed skating rink, which is open to the public.
